Our private tour of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro is one of our most popular journeys, and it's easy to see why. These four countries sit side by side and complement each other beautifully, each one adding something the others don't have.

What each country brings to the trip

Slovenia 🇸🇮 
Slovenia is compact, green, and gorgeous: from the fairy-tale shores of Lake Bled to the underground world of Postojna Cave and the dramatic Predjama Castle built into a cliff face. A country that surprises almost everyone who visits.

Croatia 🇭🇷 
The Adriatic star of the journey. Plitvice Lakes and its turquoise waterfalls, the Roman ruins of Split's old town, the walled city of Dubrovnik, Croatia has some of the most photogenic places in all of Europe, and they're even better with a local guide to show you around.

Montenegro 🇲🇪 
Montenegro's Bay of Kotor is one of the most beautiful spots in Europe. It’s a fjord-like inlet surrounded by mountains, with medieval towns clinging to the water's edge. Add the glamorous Sveti Stefan island, and you have an unforgettable journey.

Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦 
Sarajevo is one of Europe's most layered and fascinating cities, with Ottoman architecture, a turbulent 20th-century history, and incredible food. The old bridge at Mostar and the dervish house at Blagaj are among the most memorable sights in the entire Balkans.

📅 How long does it take?

We suggest 14 days to explore these four countries properly, starting in Ljubljana and finishing in Sarajevo, taking in 13 cities and 5 UNESCO heritage sites along the way.

That said, the itinerary is fully flexible. It can be extended to 3 weeks if you want more time to slow down and explore, or shortened to around 10 days if your schedule is tighter. Just tell us what works for you.
